About the Whitakers

Fifth Generation family farmers, Jim and Sam Whitaker, along with their wives, run Whitaker Grain based in South Arkansas. Whitaker Grain is a multi-crop farming operation producing rice, corn, soybeans, and cotton.

Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products have Jim and Sam continually looking for new and better practices to implement in each aspect of their operation. Whitaker Grain leads the nation in sustainability developments and bottom-line results and was recognized in 2016 as the first farmers globally to sell carbon credits for rice to Microsoft.

Whitaker Grain believes they are to be good stewards of the land given to their families. They achieve this by utilizing restorative and sustainable practices by using less water, lowering greenhouse gases, and feeding more people per acre. These practices will allow the next generation to continue and thrive in the farming industry and provide healthy food to tables around the world.
